VISITING
HOURS
Visiting hours
for parents are unrestricted and siblings are allowed to visit
between 4pm - 7pm, following 'quiet time'.
Visiting hours for all other visitors are
strictly 4pm - 7pm daily. Only 2 visitors are allowed per cot at
any time, one of whom must be a parent. This helps us to maintain
confidentiality and the dignity of the baby and allows adequate
space around the cot. Children who are not siblings to the baby are
not permitted on the Unit.
The Unit has quiet/dark time daily at 1pm
and 4pm, to allow the babies to rest.
Parents can authorise specific
relatives/friends to visit in their absence, especially if the
mother is unwell.
FACILITIES
Overnight
accommodation
There is overnight accommodation for parents to 'room in' prior to
discharge, or if your baby is unstable. The Unit has access to
Ronald McDonald House for families to stay if you come from out of
area.
Catering/refreshments
There are limited
facilities on the Unit, but there is a kitchen and laundry
facilities at Ronald McDonald House.
