The Essex Neonatal Units are based in 5 Acute Hospital NHS Trusts these are:

• Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust
• Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust
• Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust
• Basildon and Thurrock University Hosptials NHS Foundation Trust
• Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

The region has five neonatal units at:

• St.Johns Hospital
• Princess Alexandra Hospital
• Colchester General Hosptial
• Basildon Hospital
• Southend Hospital

The Essex Neonatal Units are associate members of either Eastern Perinatal Network (Colchester, Chelmsford and Harlow) or North East London Perinatal Network (Basildon and Southend).
