Research in Neonatal Care

They may include :

  • Trials of new treatments, for example controlled hypothermia for babies at risk of brain damage after a hypoxic ischemic episode in labour and delivery.
  • Developing new medications
  • Researching into the experiences of people working in the health service. This may include parents to gain further understanding of their experiences and use their insight to improve services.

The research may be done by doctors, nurses, midwives, academics and by consumer groups.
