About us

The London South East Perinatal Network is one of 24 Neonatal/Perinatal Networks across England.

The Network consists of 7 hospitals in South East London, working together to ensure that mothers and babies are cared for in the right place, at the right time and by appropriately trained staff.

It coordinates Intensive Care and Special Care provision for newborn infants in the London Boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich.

The major part of the Intensive Care need for the most preterm infants is provided at King's College Hospital, St Thomas' Hospital and University Hospital Lewisham. The major part of neonatal surgical need is provided at King's College Hospital and University Hospital Lewisham. Specialist Cardiac Care is provided at St Thomas' Hospital.

The Network aims to deliver a single neonatal service across London South East. For parents this means that there will be a consistency in the way that services are provided and the information given. Staff on all units will share clinical guidelines and information about babies if they are moved between hospitals using a common computerised data system known as SEND.
