To view the Parent Information Leaflet for parents and families of sick, newborn and premature babies cared for in a South West London Hospital, please click on the icon to the right of this page. This leaflet will help provide you with information specific to the unit your baby is in, such as visiting times, facilities, access to interpreters, ward round times, midwifery care, going home etc.
Epsom General Hospital runs as a Special Care Unit. SCUs provide special care for their own local population. Depending on arrangements within their neonatal network, they may also provide some High Dependency services. In addition, SCUs provide a stabilisation facility for babies who need to be transferred to a neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for Intensive or High Dependency Care, and they also receive transfers from other network units for continuing Special Care.
Facilities for sick and premature babies include a Neonatal Unit at St Helier Hospital and a Special Care Baby Unit at Epsom General Hospital and they work jointly to provide the best care possible for your baby.
