The key functions of the South West London Perinatal Network are covered by the five sub-groups which are:
Clinical Practice and Governance Sub-group
- To develop a governance framework for the network
- To advise the Board about best clinical practice and ensure all clinical and nursing protocols are reviewed / revised as necessary
- To inform the Board of the results of monitoring clinical practice
User Involvement Sub-group
- To develop user involvement across the Network
- To ensure patient information is easily accessible and appropriate for the population needs
- To monitor the networks response to views / issues raised by users
Education, Training and Workforce Sub-group
-To develop and oversee implementation of a workforce development plan to support delivery of network targets
- To ensure opportunities for professional development
Research and Development / Audit Sub-group
- To maximise perinatal R&D opportunities across the Network and develop a related programme to include long term outcomes
Information / Data Management Sub-group
- To develop a plan that achieves effective cot/bed management and patient flows across the Network underpinned by a robust and accessible information base
- To link with the Information Sub-group of the London Steering Group
- To understand the existing commissioning flows of patients and finance
