SISTER NEONATAL UNIT Band 6
Its an EXCITING time for our Neonatal Department and the Paediatric Services at the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, Harlow Essex. After years of planning, preparation and fundraising by the dedicated staff and parents of the hospital. The NEW BUILD IS COMING SEPT 2011 - Spade ready to go in the ground !!!

By April 2012 we will have state-of-the-art purpose built neonatal intensive care unit with sophisticated technology. This will set the benchmark in creating outstanding patient/family-centred care. We can proudly annouce that in the last 12 months in preparation for this new build we have dramatically pushed forward our Paediatric units in terms of recruitment and in this role you will now be fully supported by a very well experienced Neonatal Ward Manager, Dedicated Paediatric HDU Facilitator, Dedicated Paediatric Matron and Dedicated Neonatal Practice Development Nurse.

Of the 4000 babies delivered each year at Princess Alexandra Hospital, around 350 are admitted to our Neonatal Unit. The Trust is in the process of becoming a Foundation Trust and we are introducing innovative developments in services.

At present we have a fully equipped 16-cot unit with giraffe incubators and our catchment area is expanding considerably. We are looking to recruit an experienced Neonatal Nurse or Sister (general or child branch or registered midwife) who hold the special and intensive care of the newborn qualification, and ideally the Mentorship qualification (MIPPS) with previous experience of working in a Level 2 /3 unit.

Hinchingbrooke

Cambridgeshire Community Services NHSTrust is currently looking to recruit to its Special Care Baby Unit, based on the Hinchingbrooke Hospital site in Huntingdon.  Providing care to babies from 26 weeks gestation, we are passionate about delivering first-class care across our two intensive care, two high dependency and eight special care cots.   Working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team we provide holistic, family centred care that we are proud of and that we know makes a difference. 

We are looking for band 5 staff nurses who have an interest in neonates and an enthusiasm to learn and develop to join our friendly, vibrant nursing team.  Experience is desirable but not essential and equal consideration will be given to all applicants, irrespective of whether they are newly qualified, currently practising in neonatal care or are currently working in a different field but are interested in becoming neonatal nurses.  A full induction programme will be made available to successful applicants, in addition to an ongoing programme that will  meet your individual training and educational needs.  In addition to this, we are able to offer family friendly and flexible working policies to help successful applicants maintain an enviable work-life balance.
